DEATH DOULA

GRIEF & GRIEVING COUNSELOR

Dr. Cristina García-Gil, MD.

PROUD MEMBER OF:

Healing not only happens when we lose someone or something significant, it happens every day and in every stage of our lives.

I offer an initial consultation for a nominal fee to get to know you and align expectations. In this initial session, I listen and understand your needs, and explain my proposal in detail; this is what I call aligning expectations. Subsequently, appropriate therapies are offered for each case (available both online and in person, pre- and postmortem/loss; or just because we feel the call of healing our soul and transform our life).

After 18 years of practice, I decided to put (conventional) medicine on the back burner to share resources beyond it with my patients, transforming my practice into a non-medical counseling approach more oriented toward the spirit and soul, with a broader focus on life, illness, death, and dying. Thanks to my academic training and experience, my knowledge and expertise in healthcare, medicine, patient safety, information security (HIPAA), among others, I can guarantee a safe, reliable, and responsible practice whose primary and sole objective is the well-being of my patients and their families. I practice in an ethical and qualified manner, combining unconventional therapies, ancestral and Eastern approaches, while reinforcing adherence to classical Western medicine. I am a death doula, grieve and life conusleor-coach, ready to serve you & your family, as well as all those who seek guidance and support on its path of transformation.

All therapies are conducted in sequential sessions and with a mutually agreed-upon schedule, with clear process goals (not outcome goals). Each session can last from 1 to 3 hours, both individually and in small groups. Options include individual sessions/services or packages (with sliding scales).

My approach is both individual and group, always based on a holistic approach, understanding the client, their reality, their history, their fears, concerns, and expectations.

Healing is a process, not a final destination. You can weave both the shelter of the journey and your path. Like a loom, every path is unique; every weaving is different, just as every human being is. Life is, ultimately, a web woven with circumstances, relationships, moments, and experiences, and each one has its own unique healing process and loom. By viewing your story as a web that can be unraveled and rewoven, I can help you choose and follow your own path. Together, we can find a way to make it worthwhile and meaningful.
